Can a Maryland landlord charge you an early termination fee if you are evicted?
First look at the lease agreement; this should have your answer. If it is not explicit in the agreement that there is an early termination fee that includes eviction, you may be able to contest any amount the landlord claims you owe for early termination. You should have an attorney review your lease and, if appropriate, make a formal request to your landlord.
