Maryland Probate Fees
The county Register of Wills office will assess estate administration fees per Maryland law. The fees are assessed when your attorney files the first account for the estate. Additional fees could be assessed if the value of the estate increases. The estate value is determined by reviewing the value of all assets included in the inventory, principal and income receipts, and increases from disposition, less any lawful deductions. Here is a list of the fees in Maryland for probate as of the date of publication:

$10,000 to $20,000 / $100
$20,000 to $50,000 / $150
$50,000 to $75,000 / $200
$75,000 to $100,000 / $300
$100,000 to $250,000 / $400
$250,000 to $500,000 / $500
$500,000 to $750,000 / $750
$750,000 to $1,000,000 / $1,000
$1,000,000 to $2,000,000 / $1,500
$2,000,000 to $5,000,000 / $2,500
$ 5,000,000 or more / $2,500 plus .02% of excess over $5,000,000
